We are seeking a commercial and tech savvy Account Manager to work in our small but highly successful Brands & Agencies team in Cologne. This is an Account Management role with strong focus on sales (up and cross selling) so the successful candidate will be an integral part of all functions of the Brands & Agencies team, sitting within the larger DACH commercial team.

We also work with brands,such as Adidas, Audi, BMW, P&G, Porsche, L´Oreal, Red Bull, Samsung, Volkswagen, Zalando and their agencies, to drive engagement with their own content and amplify their positive earned media.

Agency groups are a key customer segment for Outbrain in Germany. Based on efficiency-driven structures, their activity is centred around showing a client immediate solutions for their marketing needs. Clients such as Omnicom, Publicis and GroupM are examples of agencies that have been successful in utilising Outbrain as a channel for reaching client goals.

Deliverables: What you will achieve

Your first year should look like this:

●       In your first month, you should find your bearings, get to know your team, do a deep dive into our Amplify product and start to build key relationships externally.

●       After three months, you’ll have mastered our technology and tools and you’ll be building on new business opportunities via optimisation, cross selling and upselling. Additionally, you’ll feedback to product management on features that would provide partners with additional value.

●       After six months, you will have ownership of a client portfolio and be working closely with cross-functional teams including marketing and sales planning

●       By the end of your first year, you’ll be an essential part of the German Account Management team, using your knowledge and expertise to provide first class support and account management to top tier brands and their agencies, whilst also using your strategic insight and learnings from the environment, to further become an external evangelist of content marketing across the web.

We are looking for evidence of:

  • 1 to 3 years experience within the digital industry or a graduate with relevant digital experience
  • Experience in managing and optimising digital campaigns
  • Native/nearly native German and fluent English - in order to be able to understand the context and content of articles and to optimize/re-write engaging headlines
  • Delivering against set KPIs e.g. traffic, awareness, performance
  • Problem-solving and ability to offer tailored solutions to specific challenges of each client
  • Working smart to meet and exceed goals
  • Capacity to manage the whole of Outbrain’s campaign workflow: preparation, upload, kick-off call, follow-up, daily optimisations, reporting & campaign analysis
  • Proven ability and desire to interface with clients both remotely and face to face to provide timely, consistent and accurate support and account management 
  • Possess a technical aptitude and a desire to learn the intricacies of the Outbrain system and to leverage that knowledge to help clients with support issues
  • Analytical ability to monitor and identify trends in performance metrics and data
  • Ability to proactively influence and work with high profile agencies independently and within a team environment.
