Email Marketing Manager

Outbrain is looking for an Email Marketing Manager to join our Engage (Publishers) Group. We’re looking for a highly analytical, data-driven, retention marketer to play a pivotal role in helping to grow Outbrain’s Mid-Market Publisher business (aka Engage). This is a great opportunity to build a new function within Outbrain, with an immense impact on the success of the SMB efforts.




Your first year should look like this:

- In your first month, you should find your bearings, do a deep dive into the Outbrain product, and start to build key internal and external relationships

- After three months, you will be an expert in Native Advertising with a strong understanding of our customer base.

- After six months, you will have developed a customer segmentation strategy and the automated email marketing flows to engage these customer segments, throughout the sales funnel. You will lead the testing & learning agenda to optimize campaigns based on results from testing, and post-campaign analytics using data from across the organization to report ROI-driven marketing results across activity to show what’s working and what’s not.

- When you will finish up your first year, you will have successfully designed and managed the development of lead generation (e.g. inbound leads via website and outbound leads via email marketing) system with scheduled/rules-triggered deployments, as well as configured automated technical solutions to vet and review inbound leads for quality assurance, working cross-functionally with our Business Development, Product Marketing, and Publisher Management leads to make data-driven decisions to improve KPIs along the entire sales funnel.


What you’ll need to be successful:


  • You have 3-4 years experience in a marketing or sales operations role.
  • You use data to identify when and how to engage customers throughout their journey, anticipating their needs, addressing their pain points, and enhancing their experience
  • You’re highly analytical with the business acumen to derive insights from large data sets.
  • You have experience with Salesforce email marketing and/or marketing automation platforms (Silverpop, Marketo a plus
  • You have strong project management skills and an ability to partner with multiple cross-functional teams
  • Strong communication skills - ability to communicate effectively across teams.
  • Experience in Digital Advertising is a big advantage.
  • BA or BS required.
