Outbrain is seeking a highly motivated, passionate and organised Junior Business Development Manager to expand the distribution of our content recommendation and native advertising network to additional publisher and media sites in the D/A/CH region.

We already work with clients that include Spiegel Online, Bild, Focus, Kurier, Styria, Guardian, CNN, and Time Inc.

Your first year should look like this:

  • In your first month, you should find your bearings, do a deep dive into the Outbrain product
  • After three months, you will have an understanding of the publisher landscape in Germany and you’ll have mastered our positioning within the digital landscape. You’ll be able to confidently build a pipeline and outreach to publishers
  • After six months, you will have successfully started to support the Head of Publisher Development D/A/CH on presentations and analytics
  • When you finish up your first year, you’ll be an essential part of the Publisher team in Germany, having substantially helped the Head of Publisher Development D/A/CH increase Outbrain’s deals with publishers.  

Responsibilities

  • Support the Head of Publisher Development in the Request for Proposal (RFP) process
  • Build a large pipeline of outbound leads.
  • Sell multiple products to a given customer by weaving through small and mid tier publisher to find the right stakeholders for each product without confusing overall product messaging
  • Report into and work closely with the Head of Publisher Development D/A/CH to consistently achieve and exceed revenue goals. 
  • Good skills in Powerpoint, Excel and Word
  • Experience of working with Salesforce
  • First experience of working in the media industry and understanding of the publisher eco-system in Germany
  • Understanding of digital technologies/site monetisation
  • Interpersonal, presentation and sales skills.
  • Any experience selling products to online publishers a significant plus
  • Good analytical skills and ability to identify trends in data and in generated reports
  • Minimum one year digital experience
  • Graduate preferred
